Big screen cinema will be coming to Stone later this month with the showing of Rowan Atkinson comedy spy thriller Johnny English Reborn.
The PG film will be shown at St Dominic’s Social Centre in Station Road on Sunday 20th November at 2.30pm. It costs £4.50 a seat and you can pay on the door or buy them in advance from Fleur’s Tea Room in Granville Square and All Seasons in the High Street. Please bear in mind that there are limited tickets available. Refreshments and snacks will be available to buy on the day.
The cinema screening is the idea of local man John Duncan – and he says this could be the first of regular film screenings in the town.
He said: “Stone has so many great events such as the Food and Drink Festival, music festival, farmers’ markets and lots more. I thought a cinema would be a great addition to what already takes place.
“If people in the town support the idea of cinema screenings, in the new year I’ll put on screenings once a month on a Saturday, showing different films to hopefully cover all tastes and ages. After the first film I’ll have the building surveyed to see if 3D equipment can be used.
“The idea is to put some of the profits from the Saturday cinema screenings back into the community to support organisations and projects.”
